Let us muse today from Amos 3:9-10 when God calls for a witness among the Gentile nation’s to the sins of the nation of Israel. God calls the Philistines and the Samaritans to witness the sins of Israel. We often do our sins in the dark but God uncovers them in the light. Abraham lied and was exposed to an Egyptian ruler. Samson was shamed before the Philistines. David’s adultery disgraced him before the heathen. In verse 10 Amos says they know not to do right. The indication is they don’t know how to do right. Indication is that they are drunk on their riches and see not the state of the poor. John said of the state of the church at Laodicea they are rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing in their own eyes. God says the church of today is poor and in need of everything while the world looks on. No wonder we have no power with the world that looks on at our sins.
