Seek The Lord

Let us  muse today from Amos 5:4-6 and a section I’ve entitled how to avoid God’s  judgement. One thing we have already seen from Amos was to hear God’s word. The second we find in our text is to seek the Lord. Isaiah said to seek the Lord while He may be  found. The phrase is used 30 times in the Bible. The term means to pant after Him. It also has the idea of abandon our thinking, feeling, doings, and set them upon Him alone. When one forsakes his thinking he will have the mind of Christ. When one forsakes his doings he will find the ways of Christ. When one forsakes his feelings he will then know the desires of Christ. Let me awake every day with but one desire and that is to seek the Lord.
