Musing Through Matthew- Roman Solider’s Humility

Let us muse again today from Matthew 8:8-9 and the theme of Jesus King.In our text for today we find further evidence of the humility of the Roman soldier who desired his servant boy to be healed. In his request he asked that the Lord not trouble Himself by coming to the house. He said I am a soldier with authority to just say  a word here and things will happen over there. He was confident that our Lord had such authority. He could say  but a word and great things would happen. Lord, give us in this hour a confidence in the power of your word and go forth and speak it to a sin sick world.
