Musing Through Matthew-Hypocrites Described

Let us muse again today from Matthew 7:3-5 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text today our King describes the hypocrite. He is one who sees a speck of sin in the eye of another but fails to see sin the size of a telephone pole in his own eye. Let us not use the excuse that the church is full of hypocrites to not attend when they assemble together. Let us go to church that we may sit under the sound of the preaching of God’s word that we may work on the telephone pole in our own eye. When we do we will be more severe in judging ourselves and more merciful on others.
