Let us muse again today from Matthew 15:11 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our text for today we find the riddle of the ages. The riddle would say that the defilement of man is not that which is on the outside going in but that which is on the inside coming out. The Pharisees who place so much emphasis on the laws of tradition, man’s appearance, and morals would be enraged . Jesus said the problem was not outward but inward depravity. Oh I wish we would direct more of our preaching to the inward man and less to the outward man. We might could experience another great awakening.
