Musing Through Matthew- Two Great Truths

Let us muse again today from Matthew 14:13 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our verse for study today we find two great truths. One is when our Lord heard of the death of John the Baptist He departed by ship into a desert place for solitude. He was touched by this tragedy and sensed the need to be alone with the Father. How many times do we encounter trouble and failed to get alone with Jesus. It is a must when life is touched by tragedy to get at His feet. The other truth is the crowd followed the boat by walking along the shore. The desire for a word from Jesus drew them to follow hard after Him. Lord, raise up some with these two great truths living in their hearts.
