Let us muse again today from Matt 13:49-50 and the theme of Jesus the king. In the text for today we find some sobering words about the end of the world. Our Lord will send forth his messenger to sever between the wicked and the just. Spurgeon said the separation will be done, infallibly, quickly, fully, and finally. Those who think it will be annihilation and they will burn up better look at the verbs wailing and gnashing, both or ing verbs indicating a forever action. This punishment should alarm us to warn the wicked to flee the wrath to come.
