Musing Through Matthew-Mercy Over Sacrifice

Let us muse again today from Matthew 12:7 and the theme of Jesus the king.I see in our study today the thought of mercy over sacrifice. Our Lord brings up the fact of Hosea 6:6 and showing of mercy over sacrifice. He asked them if they understood  the meaning of this verse. How often we want to hold to the letter of the law and leave no wiggle room for mercy. The thought of David’s men eating the showbread as well as Jesus disciples plucking ears of corn caused the legalistic to see them rather  starve to death than break the Jewish law. Let us be sure our convictions are not ones that are given wiggle rooms of Mercy by the merciful Christ.
