Musing Through Matthew- Cost Of Confession

Let us muse again today from Matthew 10:32-33 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our text for today we are confronted with the cost of confession. We are warned here that the lack of confessing Christ to men will cost us far more in the world to come than in the world that now is. I asked the question can a non-confessing faith save? I am convinced from the text that it cannot. In the words of Spurgeon, “Holy Spirit enable me to confess you no matter what the spirit of the age be, uphold thy church when she is most despised, obey thy precepts when they cost most dear, and glory in thy name when it is most reproached”.
