Let us muse again today from Matthew 10:1 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our study for today we see the commissioning by Christ. They were first called by Christ, declared to be disciples, and then given power over unclean spirits, sickness, and diseases. It began with a call. There can be no major work done for our Lord without a divine call upon the life. I wonder how many today claim to be in service for Christ and cannot look back to a divine call upon their life? Once the call was issued it led to being a disciple. The word disciple means one who studies the teacher and seeks to be just like Him. When these two things were in place, called and a disciple there was abundant power given. May we look for these two qualifications in our own lives.
