Let us muse again today from Matthew 7:28-29 the theme of Jesus the King. In our text for today the greatest preacher the God-man ends His sermon on the mount. Notice the only results He has is that they were astonished. No conversions or those who have been brought to believe in Him. This is the clearest doctrinal preaching by God Himself with no conversions. Let us never be surprised when our little sermons yield nothing. The word astonish means surprise with little understanding. We see even that the God man’s preaching has no effect on the heart of man unless the heart is touched by the quickening power of the Holy Ghost.
