Musing Through Matthew-End Of Corrupt Tree

Let us muse again today from Matthew 7:19 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text today we are confronted by our King with the end of the corrupt tree. Our Lord mixers no words but simply tells us there will come a day when this tree will be cut down. This seems to me to speak of death. Then the tree will be thrown in the fire. The fire spoken of in other places in the Scriptures is an eternal fire. Oh how this should cause us to rejoice in the fact the very nature of God has been placed in our tree and is causing us to bring forth good fruit unto Him.
