Musing Through Matthew- Public Prayers

Let us muse again today from Matthew 6:5 and the theme of Jesus King. In our text today our Lord deals with public prayers. He does not condemn public prayers because God’s people should never be reluctant to pray even in public. Let us be careful of our motives or aims in public prayer. When I pastored some people would pray so others would hear and supply their needs. One of the areas of concern for me is when preachers at the end of services pray their prayers to the people. They pray some are here and need to make a decisions, to be saved, baptized or join the church. We have all been foolishly guilty of praying prayers to people. Let us remember when we do, it is a profane prayer and will not go any further than the roof over our heads.
