Musing Through Matthew- Rewards For Doing

Let us muse again today from Matthew 6:2 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text today our King deals with giving and our rewards for doing. The religious crowds of that day would come to worship with a penny in one hand and a trumpet in the other. I find an application in this text for our day. I see many on twitter and Facebook speaking of how big their services where and how many conversions they had, be careful, it is easy to have glory of man but honor from God is another thing. If we get glory and applause now there will be none latter. Unrewarded doing and giving will alone count in the record of the last day.
