Musing Through Matthew- Worship And Forgiveness

Let us muse again today from Matthew 5:23-24 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text for today  our Lord deals with worship and forgiveness. We are told if one is going to worship the Father and remembers that he has ought with his brother he is told to go and make peace with his brother and then return and offer his worship to the Father. If he does not the worship will be vain and unacceptable. I feel making peace with your brother involves more than saying if I have done any thing wrong to you I am sorry. When our words of sorrow are clear about what we have done wrong accompanied with great brokenness of heart then and only then will peace be made. I wonder how many assemble on the Lord’s day and offer vain worship to the Father because they have never been reconciled to a family member, mate, child, or someone who can say you have offended me and never have made it right.
