Let us muse again today from Matthew 5: 11-12 and the theme of Jesus the King. It is here we find the ninth beatitude. We see in our text a great part of persecution is done with the tongue to say all manner of evil against another. It seems as though others will throw plenty of mud hoping some will stick. I have had my fair share of untruth said about yours truly. We are told that when we are slandered we are in the presence or company of the prophets. Our Lord tells us our response to slander is to rejoice and be exceedingly glad and when we do we are assured of a great reward in heaven. I want to be like my Lord and have the proper response to those who are mudslingers with their tongues.
