Musing Through Matthew-The Sword Sends Satan Packing

Let us muse again today from Matthew 4:10 and the theme of Jesus the King. We see in our text the words for it is written. Our Lord flashes the sword again. Our Lord quotes from the book of Deuteronomy one of the most controversial books in its authenticity of all the Bible books. Our Lord knew it would be attacked so He lifted it up. He tells Satan to get the hence. The phrase has the idea of get behind, get under me, get at My feet, but never over Me, in front of Me, or beside Me. He said we must worship the Lord God only. If the offer to us is the whole world let us refuse and worship the Lord only. When we see Him it will be worth all the worlds ever created.
