Musing Through Matthew-If Thou Be

Let us muse again today from Matthew 4:5-6 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text Satan aims his fiery darts at our Lord’s Sonship when he says if thou be the Son of God. He takes Him to a high religious place tells Him to jump assuring Him the Angels will take Him up. The quote is from Psalms 91:11-12 and leaves out the phrase to keep you in all your ways. God has promised to keep us in the way and not in our follies. Oh how the devil loves to handle the word and give but a half truth. Once again we are reminded of how important is every word in the Bible.
