Let us muse today from Matthew 3:17 and the theme of Jesus the King. I am drawn through meditation today to our text verse when it says a voice from heaven saying this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. I find the Father calls His Son my beloved personal possession of a much-loved one. He also says He is well pleased or extremely satisfied with Him. I am also drawn to the fact He does not say with Him but in Him that He finds pleasure. The great pleasure is found in Christ. Paul told us in Ephesians the Father chose a people before the foundation of the world of whom I am a part and placed them in the Son. The pleasure He has found is me, the church, the redeemed people of God. Wow!
