Let us muse again today from Matthew 3:15 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text today we find that Jesus baptism is a must. Jesus tells John that he must suffer Him to be baptized now. He was not baptized for cleansing nor repentance but to fulfill all righteousness. In His immersion in the water it would picture His immersion into all the sufferings of death for His people. When He came up out of the water it would picture His triumphant victory over this world of suffering death and the sins of His people. I can now say that by faith He is my victory over all the world may hurled at me.
