Musing Through Matthew-Bloody Herod

Let us muse again today from Matthew 2:16 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text we see the wickedness of bloody Herod. Let us remember he is an Edomite a descendent of Doeg the Edomite who ruthlessly killed a host of God’s priest. He himself killed three of his own sons and the third five days before his own death. Let us not be shocked when lost men show their depravity and wickedness it is only natural for them to do it then as well as now. Remember Herod in all his rage never found the baby Jesus.
