Let us muse again today from Revelation 22:17, John 11:43 and the Gospel according to the new birth. We are looking today at the declaration of the Gospel and the types of calls. I find in Revelation 22 there is a general call given by us to whosoever will let him come but in John 11 when Lazarus was raised from the dead he had an effectual call to Lazarus of come forth. In my growing up days I heard many general calls to come and even answered some of those general calls to whosoever will but it was not until I was 20 that I heard an effectual call for me to come forth from the deadness of my sin. I fear the gospel being preached today will make a lot of church members but few if any Christians. This concludes our thoughts on the gospel. Lord willing we will begin in our next blog to walk down through Matthew’s gospel and the theme of Jesus the King.
