The Gospel And Its Definition

Let us muse today from I Corinthians 15:1-4 and the Gospel according to the new birth. In this blog I want to deal with the Gospel and its definition. The word gospel literally means good news. Paul tells us in our text that the Gospel is what God used to save him. In verses three and four Paul tells us that the Gospel is made up of three elements. One of these is that Christ died for our sins. The word sin is in the plural. When He died on the cross He took away all my sins that my friend is good news. We are told of other elements and they are that He was buried and rose again. When Christ died I died with Him. When Christ was buried I was buried with Him. When Christ arose I arose with Him. When He sat down at the right hand of the Father I sat down with Him. That my friend is good news.
