Let us muse again today from Mark 10:45 the Gospel according to the new birth. We are looking in these days at the Trinity’s part in my new birth. Our text says Jesus came to give his life a ransom for many. The word ransom means to loosen and break the chains by paying a price. The word many means the larger portion of the whole. This gives a whole new meaning to Matthew 1:21 where Mary is told to call His name Jesus for He will save His people from their sins. The word save here means to deliver by making whole. I am glad and so very thankful that for some reason hidden in the deep realms of God’s mind He made me a part of the many and one of His people.
