Let us muse again today from Luke 1:35 and the theme of the Gospel according to the new birth. In our text today we are told of all the elements that are present in the virgin birth. I find in the new birth in being born from above all these elements must be present as well. The text says that thing that shall be born of Mary shall be called the Son God. The word thing speaks of the seed. In my new birth God planted the seed inside me, the Holy Ghost came up on me, and the Holy Spirit brooded over this seed and birth in me the Son God. In being born from above I have experienced the miracle of the new birth. I noticed God never asked Mary if she would be interested in, give permission for, or received the virgin born Son of God in her. He just did it and it was so.
