Let us muse today from John 17:23 and the high priestly prayer. In our text today our Lord prays about the accomplishments of perfect standing. One of these accomplishments is the world might know that the Father sent the Son. It is seen in the fact that He has also sent us to accomplish His purpose in this world. A second is that the world may see that you love your elect people as you love me. Let us notice that love is in the past tense. He loved us long before we loved Him as matter of fact He said He loved us with an everlasting love. For His chosen people there has never been a time when He did not love us.
