Let us muse today from John 17:12 and the high priestly prayer. In our text today I am drawn to the phrase son of perdition or son of hell. Judas was nicknamed this to fulfill the Scriptures. Long before Judas was ever born Psalms 41:9 tells us that he as a friend would turn on Jesus. We are told in Psalms 109 that Satan would stand at Judas right hand, Judas’ days would be few, another would take his office as a disciple, that he would be condemned, and his prayers would become sin. This was all decided before Judas ever took a breath upon the earth. What a God of sovereignty we bow before and worship this day.
