Let us muse today from John 17:8b and the high priestly prayer. While our Lord is praying our text tells us He prays about the power of the word. Our Lord says that those who have received the word know that He came out of the Father. The word know is to have revealed to so that one understands it clearly. We know that Christ came forth as an equal from the Father. The word also assures us with the belief of confidence that the Father sent the Son with the purpose to redeem us His people.
