Let us muse again today from John 17:4 and the high priestly prayer. I am interested in the words of our Lord when He prayed I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do. I’m assured from this word that our Lord was given an assignment to do before He came here to the earth. We see by the tense of the verbs that He is reporting back and that all is done. The word finished means that it was completely accomplished. He has not yet died But He says that it is finished also. He is surely the Lamb that John said looked as though He had been slain from the foundation of the world. May we to find out what it is the Lord desires for us to do in this world and finished the job.
