Context Of The Hour

Let us muse again today from the high priestly prayer in John 17:1. We are looking today at the phrase Jesus prays, the hour is come. I draw our attention to the context of this phrase. This is the closing remarks and prayer after the upper room supper with the disciples and shortly before the arrest. Our Lord so fittingly says the hour is present tense come. He is well aware of the future suffering that is coming for Him for John says later in Revelation He is the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world.
