Let us begin today to muse from John 17:1 and the high priestly prayer. Look with me in verse one at the posture of Jesus prayer. We are told that He lifted up His eyes to heaven. This is certainly a posture of humility and contrition. It is also an indication of the individual focusing all their attention on but one thing. This is the only way to get heaven’s attention is in a posture of humility and contrition. This involves the clearing of the table of all but Christ.
