Let us begin to muse today from I Peter 1:17-21 and Peter’s precious pictures. I would like to look today at the precious blood. Let us look at a reminder of this precious blood. I see in our text the reminder of the cost of this precious blood. The word precious means rare, a treasure beyond calculation, and one of a kind. Our blood is not precious but His is. There is no blood like His. His blood is sinless, without spot or stain. His blood did not come from an earthly dad but from a heavenly Father. I would also mentioned a reminder of calculation of this precious blood. The word precious is used seven times in first and second Peter which is the number for perfection. We cannot see God unless we are perfect. Jesus said in Matthew 5:48 be ye perfect even as my Father in heaven is perfect. There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel veins and sinners plunge beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. The only way to be perfect is to be washed in His blood.
