Position of Humanity

Let us begin to muse today from Ephesians 2:1-3 and the before and after picture of grace. We will begin today to look at the position of humanity. I see in verse one it would involve a dead state. Each of us come forth from our mother’s womb in a dead state. Paul tells us in our text about the word dead which I would hope means corpse, one who has been embalmed, powdered, fixed up, and laid out looking like they are at rest. It is not but it is the picture of rotting, decomposing flesh, that smells to the highest degree. You get the before picture and this is but the first stroke of painting the picture by Paul and the work of grace in the life of the sinner. It sure would difficult to talk that type of corpse into making a decision. It looks like to me they would need some life.
