Let us begin today to muse from the book of Malachi and the subject of who is he. We are told nothing about his parents, occupation, pedigree, where he was from or how old he was. All we know is that he closed out the cannon of Old Testament Scripture and after his writing God was silent for 400 years. His name means messenger or missionary. The Latin word for his name is Angelicus, which is our word angel. He is called the prophet with the angelic message. He is the last prophet of the Old Testament and much like the first prophet of the New Testament John the Baptist they were voices crying in the wilderness.
