A Destructive Battle

Let us muse again today from Zephaniah 1:14-18.  another picture from Jewish history to describe the day of the Lord. The one mentioned here is of a destructive battle. We are told in verse 14 that the day of the Lord is closer than we think. Zephaniah says in verse 15 it would be a day of wrath, trouble, distress, waste, desolation, darkness, gloominess, and  clouds of darkness. The Lord says in verse 12 their blood will be poured out like dust and their flesh will be like dung. He tells them in verse 18 all the riches of silver and gold will not spare them from the day of the Lord. Once again to be in Christ I am reminded there is no condemnation for us and we are not appointed to be partakers of His wrath.
