Let us muse from Zephaniah 1:1 and an introductory remark from this book. We find that in his family genealogy he was the great-grandson of Hezekiah. This was one of Israel’s righteous kings. This prophet had connection with the royal family of Israel. I wonder if somewhere in his past he chose not to go into the royal direction of being a king, but choose rather to suffer the affliction of being a prophet. This is certainly not the most lucrative direction to go in. I’m glad that God still has some men these days that seek to answer God’s call and not choose the direction that pays the best. Our Lord still has His men of God to carry the message to the world.
