The Haughtiness Of The Enemy

Let us muse today from Habakkuk 1:16-17 and the section I have called the prophet’s anxiety. In this section of counsel for anxiety, Habakkuk came upon three great truths. We have looked at the holiness of God and the helplessness of man. Today our text takes us to the haughtiness of the enemy. In verse 16 the Babylonians found pride in their material possession. In verse 17 they found power in their military personnel. These are the two things that often cause the fall of a nation. America sure does take pride in her great Wall Street and stock market and feels the power of her military cannot be taken. Oh how foolish we are to build on either of these shifting sands.
