A Plea For Devotion

Let us begin today to muse from Micah chapter 6-7. It is in these chapters we will find the third message that Micah preaches. We have entitled it a plea for devotion. In 6:1-8 I find the remembrance of His past devotion. The Lord calls the nation to court and tells them He has a controversy with them. He reminds them of taking them out of Egypt and over the Red Sea. In verse six He reminds them of changing Balin’s curse to a blessing. Their response to all of this was not trust an obedience, but willful sin. In verses 6-7 they asked Him what should they do about their sin. The Lord’s response in verse eight is what He requires is that they do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with the Lord. Let us pay close attention to verse eight for it is there we find a plea for our devotion. When we remember the good past dealings God has shown us what could we do but trust and obey.
