Let us muse today from Jonah 3:6-9 and another mark of revival in Nineveh. The mark mentioned here is the mark of fasting. The King put upon himself sack cloth and ashes and called for a national time of fasting and repentance. They even covered the animals in sack cloth and ashes and fasted them. Proverbs says, a righteous man regarded the life of his beast. John Phillips said, when there was a great move of God in Wales when he was a young boy many of the hard-line coal miners were gloriously saved. When they went back to work the ponies who pulled the carts out of the mines would not work because they were not use to the kind treatment. O what a wonderful change the work of salvation does in a person’s life.
