Who Was Jonah?

Let us begin today our journey of musing from the book of Jonah. I want to deal with the question today of who was Jonah? II Kings 2: 25 tells us that he was from a very small Galilean town located 4 miles from Nazareth. He was a prophet during the days of Jeroboam II. He was called the first preacher to the Gentiles in Nineveh. This really puts down the foolish words of the Pharisee’s in John 7:52 when they said, out of Galilee arises no prophet. This certainly proves they didn’t know the Scripture as well as they thought they did. Let us search the Scriptures daily and see if these things be so or not.
